September 7, TUESDAY 6 - 8:00pm
“ZIPPERS MADE EASY” $17 plus kit cost.

Some sewers will do anything to avoid using a zipper – but not you! In this two-hour workshop, you’ll learn 3 types of zipper applications – centered, lapped, and invisible. We will determine which technique is best for the project at hand. This workshop will leave you confident in your ability to insert zippers and come away with great samples!

“EXPLORING YOUR SERGER” $33 plus kit cost.

CLASS 1: This is a great class for getting to know your machine. You will learn the threading of your machine and the basic 3-thread and 4-thread over lock seams. While learning the basic techniques of the machine you will make a simple bag with zipper to store your control foot or accessories for your sewing machines.
CLASS 2: This class is a continuation of the first class. We will cover rolled hem, blind hem and gathering. You will be creating a pillow that includes ruffles, pin tucks, flat lock stitches and lots more.

“HIPPY CHICK SKIRT” $49

Get ready to sew a fun skirt - "the Bohemian style skirt from Hippy Chick!" The skill level should be for the intermediate beginner and on. We will be taking waist and hip measurements, so please wear appropriate fitted clothes for taking these measurements. Some prep work before class starts is to purchase the pattern and pick two coordinating fabrics for the skirt strips, the hem band ruffle and drop waistband. (See sample at Sew Generously.) Before the first class starts, please prewash your fabrics, so we may begin cutting the pattern pieces out. Some of the fun techniques we will learn is fraying the edges of the skirt strip pieces, as well as, the hem band ruffle, gathering the hem band ruffle and waistband area, making an elastic casing for the waistband and inserting the elastic, sewing decorative stitches, finishing the seam allowances with a serger or using a machine zig zag stitch and topstitching.

Join us each month to explore your BERNINA Software. Through a virtual software presentation, a professional BERNINA Educator will walk you through a lesson and introduce a project showcasing the featured technique. Bring your laptop with software loaded to class. A question and answer demo session will follow.
This month topic: Bottle Wrap
Create your own decorative bottle wrap. (Great hostess gift!) Use the Pattern Run feature of the software to create a beautiful decorative edge. Cut in place – or use the cutwork tool to create multiple projects! Embellish with OESD Sayings or monogram.

“LEARNING YOUR MACHINE” COVER CLASS $25

Reunite with your sewing machine and all of those features that you have not used in a long time plus some new ones you have never tried. Revisit your decorative stitches with using the memory feature on your machine to create a unique pocket. You will explore free motion quilting with to make the main cover along with piping and binding. We will also try out several feet like the double piping foot and edge stitch foot plus more! You will actually be able to finish this project in class and have a great time. Kits will be available upon request.

“V5 SOFTWARE REFRESHER CLASS” $25

Here is your chance to rediscover your Version 5 Software. It is a great way to get started or up your skills. Features that we will be covering are combining and scaling designs and adding lettering Learn how to save Embroidery designs from USB sticks, CD’s and those downloaded from the internet. Monogramming features, Auto Digitizer and Magic Wand will be explored.

“ON POINT” TABLE RUNNER/PLACEMAT CLASS $21

No experience needed !! All you need is your sewing machine, some of your favorite fabric and enjoy a fast and easy way to make a simply table runner. All you have to do is press 5” x5” squares on a Quilter’s Grid on Point and sew straight seams until you have the desired length. Add batting and backing and you ready to quilt. Finish up with binding and you are good to GO!! Great for everyone who like to sew.
